Exclusive! Farnaz Shetty enters Kashibai Bajirao Ballal as Mastani

The TV show Kashibai Bajirao Ballal has taken a time leap of seven years. Farnaz Shetty is all set to be a part of the show now. She will play the grown-up Mastani. Farnaz is excited about her new role. She says, “I am coming back to television after a gap. My last show Laal Ishq aired in 2020. Post that, I was working on a Telugu film, which was released recently.Now, I am looking forward to my entry in Kashibai Bajirao Ballal as Mastani to stir up the lives of everyone's beloved, Kashibai and Bajirao!"
It is a powerful role and Farnaz says she is happy to take up the challenge. “Being the daughter of Maharaja Chhatrasal and Ruhani Bai Begum, she is a warrior princess, who is extremely beautiful yet feisty. While she is a great warrior, she is also a classical dancer, who steals everyone's hearts with her dance moves. Having said that, she is even battling her own life’s complexities, so clearly there are a lot of layers to the character. There is so much about her which can only be justified on screen. I believe I am immensely blessed to be given this opportunity to portray such a magnificent character,” she adds.
People got to know more about these characters after Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film Bajirao Mastani. Says Farnaaz, “There are some more layers to her character than what people saw in the film. Her whole back story as well as how she deals with a lot of things by herself. I am sure the audience would like to see Mastani's different quirks."
Comparisons with Deepika Padukone, who played Mastani in the film, are bound to happen but Farnaaz isn't worried about that. "It's only natural. But my portrayal of Mastani will be different and I will give my best. I hope people shower our show with a lot of love,” says Farnaz.
